“Lost in Space” (Part 3 of 3)

Ib Melchior’s special effects expert, David Hewitt, wrote a script entitled The Wizard of Mars.  At the suggestion of his financial backers, he met with Felix Feist, a television director.  Feist worked with Irwin Allen on the television series Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and Lost in Space.

All Aboard the Hooterville Cannonball! Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of “Petticoat Junction” (Part 2 of 5)

The Emma Sweeny played the Hooterville Cannonball in Petticoat Junction studio scenes shot at General Service Studios, now known as Hollywood Center Studios.  Frequently, these scenes featured characters boarding or getting off the Hooterville Cannonball in front of the Shady Rest.

“M*A*S*H” Is Anti-War But Not Antiseptic

On September 17, 1972, CBS introduced television viewers to M*A*S*H, a half-hour comedy filmed with a laugh track and set in an Army hospital situated approximately three miles from the front lines of the Korean War.  The M*A*S*H acronym stands for Mobile Army Surgical Hospital.
