RemingtonMajor League thrilled movie audiences in 1989 with its classic underdog theme.  Focusing on a fictional version of the Cleveland Indians, Major League starred Charlie Sheen as rookie pitching sensation Rick “Wild Thing” Vaughn, Tom Berenger as veteran catcher Jake Taylor, Corbin Bernsen as selfish third baseman Roger Dorn, and Wesley Snipes as rookie speedster Willie Mays Hayes.

First Thing We Do, Let’s Film All the Lawyers (Part 2 of 2)

Based on the eponymous play, Inherit the Wind showcases the Scopes Monkey Trial.  This 1960 film stars Spencer Tracy and Fredric March as the fictional counterparts to Clarence Darrow and William Jennings Bryan, respectively.

James Bond: The Beginning

When President John F. Kennedy declared Ian Fleming to be a favorite author, he unknowingly triggered a popular culture trend.  Kennedy’s statement established Fleming’s creation of fictional spy James Bond as the standard against which spy genre characters are measured.
