COMING IN 2025!!!
Bo Belinsky: The Rise, Fall and Rebound of a Playboy Pitcher reveals how someone can ride the heights of fame, plummet to the depths of despair, and find love and acceptance in the unlikeliest of circumstances. After pitching a no-hitter as a rookie for the Los Angeles Angels in 1962, Belinsky leveraged his notoriety by thrusting into a bacchanalian lifestyle with the force of an Atlas rocket. Beautiful actresses wanted to bed him; men wanted to befriend him; and bartenders from Playa del Rey to Pacoima poured him booze on the house. Happiness had no end for the southpaw from Trenton, New Jersey. Or so he felt.
Belinsky’s paramours included the actresses Ann-Margret, Mamie Van Doren, and Connie Stevens plus marriages to a Playboy Playmate and a timber heiress. Bouncing to and from the Minor Leagues, Belinsky ended his career in 1970 with a 28-51 record in the Major Leagues. His indulgences led to addiction, three divorces, and estrangement from children. After hitting rock bottom, he settled in Las Vegas and rebuilt his life in the 1990s by working at a car dealership, embracing sobriety, and encouraging former ballplayers to attend AA meetings.
